The China National Intellectual Property Administration issued the Measures for the Protection of Geographical Indication Products on January 2, which will come into force on February 1, 2024. The “Regulations on the Protection of Geographical Indication Products” formulated by the former General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China are still valid, and the new measures are superior to the old regulations, except for administrative law enforcement related provisions.
